Default Stopper size

What size stopper will fit an ale pail lid? It came pre-drilled with my kit, the hole appears to be 3/4" in diameter.

Any chance the grommet fell out, and that it should be accepting an airlock directly?

a .75" hole would prolly hold a #2 (loose) or a #3 (tight). I wonder if there is such a thing as a 2.5 stopper. I have some tubes that would benefit from something between 2 and 3.
