I mash in an igloo cooler and have never mashed out before but now understand the benefits. How much 200 degree water is needed to bring 3 gallons of 152 degrees water up to 167? Thanks for anyone that has a formula.

search around a bit there is a calculator that I have found in the past that has this formula on it.

Here is an infusion calculator. The answer to your question depends on how much grain you have mixed in with that 3-gallons of water.

Primary/Secondary: #133 Scottish 80/-
Kegged: #132 American Wheat
Planned: IPA, Brown, Pale Ale

you need to tell us the total volume of water and the pounds of grain.
contains the equations to calculate both strike and infusion water temps and volumes.
