A buddy of mine really loves this stuff. He was asking me if I could possibly replicate it. Problem is that I can't find a clone recipe anywhere. I've never really tried cloning a commercial beer before, but this is a pretty simple beer, thus a fairly simple recipe. Here's what I came up with, what do you think?

4 lbs Wheat Malt, Ger (2.0 SRM)
0.75 oz Cluster [7.00 %] (60 min)
0.25 oz Cluster [7.00 %] (10 min)
1.00 tsp Irish Moss (Boil 10.0 min)
1 lbs Honey (1.0 SRM) (Boil 0 min)
1 Pkgs Nottingham Yeast (Lallemand #-)

Mash Schedule:

75 min at 150.0 F
10 min at 168.0 F

A while back I tried looking for clone recipes and remember reading that they do not use as much honey as you would think...as for the exa But personally I would probably just use # IMHO. All leinenkugel's use lager yeast to ferment. The same strain as well.

Any idea if they kill it off and use something else for carbonation and/or force carb? I'm wondering if it would be possible to re-culture their yeast from a bottle.....

It is cold filtered and artificially carbonated if I remember right so you wont get any deposits from your bottle.

Sorry, this one fell to the wayside, I never ended up brewing it since I had forgotten about it over that summer. I don't have lagering equipment so I can only brew them in the winter in a cold corner of my garage. Thanks for the reminder, I might do this one towards late January so as to have a nice lighter lager for early spring.
