Hi,
New to cider brewing, although have limited (mostly successful) experience with ale.
Have done quite a lot of reading on these forums to find a simple recipe to ferment from shop brought juice, and I have come up with the following, I think it's sane, any advice much appreciated, I have no need for liters of vinegar...
CIDER - 12L
12L Apple juice no additives/preservative - pitch cool ~16-20C
1 cup black tea (2 bags steeped for 15 minutes, cover with cling film)
1 tsp. nutrient (5ml)
Mangrove Jack M05 mead yeast (hydrated?)
bottle priming 3/4 tsp. castor per 750ml
sweeten - Splenda ?
--
Half chilled, half room temperature juice.
Add Tea
Add nutrient, stir to aerate for 5 minutes
Pitch yeast
ferment - 16C, cold crash 8C (as low as my chiller will manage)
--
Cheers all!
