Hi,
I made an allgrain Blue Moon clone from this recipe and loved it: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showpost.php?p=671567&postcount=6
However allgrain takes time and I would like to do an extract version with partial mash for the oats (and some 2-row in there with the oats). To save even more time I would like to start the partial mash and the extract boil at the same time in two different kettles. This would give a 90 minute extract and hops boil, but only a 30 minute boil of the wort from the 60 minute partial mash. Has anyone here tried this? Any drawbacks to be aware of with this method?
I would probably sparge the partial mash through a strainer, so some of the partial mash would get a little less than 30 min boil.
