First time using wlp001 noting the recommended temp range is 68-73F. I typically shoot for mid scale on my temp ranges, but that would have me over 70F and I am not liking that idea. My grain bill (Pumpkin Ale) has 8 lbs Marris Otter and I don't want to encourage off flavors I associate with warmer ferm temps.

Would 001 be ok to use down lower say at 65-66F in this 1.058 ale?

I am not much of a rack to secondary brewer, but for this ale I will. I am roasting fresh pie pumpkin for the boil and then again for the secondary. I'll ferment at 65, then rack off the yeast cake onto roasted pumpkin in the secondary at 68F. I feel more comfortable with these midrange temps as y'all have suggested.
