Hi all, I'm completely new to this forum and making any kind of alcoholic beverage. I'm mostly interested in making mead and cider. I bought the Alaskan bootleggers bible, and I'm a little confused about the Fermintation process. He suggests to start your own yeast culture prior to your batch which I understand, but then further along in the chapter he gives simple ingredients to use for the batch which includes yeast, do I use both? Is anyone familiar with this? Thanks in advance
