For the next 10 days, Philadelphia will be holding their annual beer week. Tastings and pubcrawls and dinners, oh my! Is anyone else going at some point?

i'm going to the unrelated AC beer fest on saturday. likely to be carnage.

i was maybe going to go to the homebrew + dogfish thing but $45 just seems like a hell of a lot of cash, plus i'll prolly be in new york for work on monday...

I think I'm going to the Celebration of the Suds now! That looks like so much fun. Thanks for mentioning it. The SWMBO is excited about it as well as we can hit up the nightlife after the afternoon session on Saturday.

last year me and my drinking buddy hit the afternoon session, then a couple of hours in the irish pub, then back for the evening session. was climbing over the barriers on the speedline on the way home. grim stuff.

this years it's going to be full-on in the afternoon, then a couple of pints in the irish, then back home.

if you're going down there from philly, deffo let the train take the strain - the beer fest is right in the convention center which is attached to the train station. and there are free shuttles from there to the casinos if you feel like trying your luck afterwards!

The trains, busses and subways are offering discount deals on all day passes for transportation....they don't want people driving

If anyone was at the South Philly Taproom Tuesday, I was the skinny dude in the Troegs workshirt. The firkin of Flying Mouflan we had was damn tasty. The cool people at the SPTR also had all of my favorite Troegs seasonals on (Nugget and Elf)...it was a good time. I would've liked to get to more events, but living two hours away in Harrisburg puts a damper on things.

Belgian Chocolate Stout, you say? Magic Hat, you say? I may have to locate some of that. It sounds like a heavenly concoction.

It certainly was. Not as smooth as I would have liked, but definitely one of the stronger ranked chocolate stouts I've had.
And don't worry about not getting out to many events. I live in the Philly area and I wasn't able to make a dent out of all the plans I had. Simply due to time constraints and money.
