I had my grain crushed planning to brew shortly thereafter. Due to family issues I have been unable to brew and 2 months have past. A brew date is also not in my foreseeable future, unfortunately. The crushed grain is in a plastic bag with a twist tie. It's been kept cool to cold. Has it gone stale? I don't want to spend 6 hours brewing to get a bad result but don't want to waste the grain if it hasn't gone stale. I'd rather buy new grain than waste my time. What do I do?

Thanx for the advice.

Tom

2 months, kept cool/cold? You are probably OK. Munch on a few to be sure - if they taste fine, you're good.

I've had good results with grains crushed about 6 -8 months before my brew day. I kept it cool, dry , dark and in a vacuum sealed bag.

It'll make beer. Maybe not the best beer but it'll be beer.

Or mix it in with a fresh grain bill and get 2 batches out of it.
