Happy Thanksgiving all, in this months Brew Your Own magazine there is an article about hemp beers made since 1998. The testing guy says he has found the best way to utilize them. He says the seeds add a nutty flavor if roasted in the shell for about 30 minutes in the oven. I have a brown ale kit I was going to brew and have access to whole seeds in the shell. My question is after roasting do I crush seeds and shell to steep or remove seeds and steep.

The whole seeds. they don't really have an outer shell. Just the dried pod covering, & that should be gone by the time you get enough to brew with.
