I added mine at flameout, most of the flavor ferments out but you are left with a little taste and a little aroma. I might try adding it to the secondary next time, I think BYO had a good article on how to do that a while back.

A few questions: With so little IBU do you get a good balance??

I just brewed this up and got a OG of 1.050. I think this is because I have exactly 5 gallons rather than 5.5. I have .5 of Saaz and .5 of Hallertauer Hersbrucker left; I could dry hopp if necessary......

Thoughts?

Okay all this has been on gas for exactly 6 days now and I swear I feel like it has been aged 6 months! This is a true quaffer!!

This may be my new house brew! Kudos to Superiorbrew

Urm.. I boiled the Flaked Rice instead of steeping it.... So, it is a little cloudy despite using gelatin & cold crash =(

I would skip the flaked rice and corn. They aren't doing anything for you other then making the beer cloudy. If you want to make the body lighter just add rice syrup or brewers corn syrup.

I'm excited to brew this as my first lager, just picked up ingredients today!

Any clarity on fermentation temps? Will this need a D. rest and how does that all work?

When and how should I add the honey to maximize its flavor? Thanks!

Right. so, I found this. Do I need to raise the temp to, say, 65F or so in between the primary and secondary fermentation? If so, guidance as to how long? Thanks!
