Hi guys, I'm using campden tablets for the first time and have read conflicting information.

I have read that I should not seal the demijohn after adding the campden, but should just use cotton wool or a paper towel for 24 hours so that gas can escape.

I have also read that the demijohn should be fully sealed with a bung and no mention of the sulphite gases needing to escape.

I have used cotton wool plugs and am sitting them at room temperature for 24 hours, is this ok?
