my girlfriend ordered me a few things for VD from this sight (jet bottle washer and a bucket lid tool). i opened it immediately b/c it was packaged very poorly and the box was crushed. after opening i realized the lid tool sent was not the one pictured. i called to explain to the guy how the lip that pries isnt long enough to grip under the lip and that it was useless. the only thing he said in response was that they dont always ship what is pictured. finally he did offer to credit my card if i shipped the tool back. ive always used AHBS or MIDWEST and have always been pleased. forrest has put things back on sale that ended early..midwest has shipped items to me for free and once credited me on an item and didnt require me to return it. both have great customer service. as far as heartshomebrew.com..i was very disappointed.

Thanks for the head's up. I've dealt with alternativebeverage.com and austinhomebrew.com (just got my Ventmatics today!) and they've been great. Each one has dealt with some out of the ordinary challenges for me. I'll definitely order from either one again. As far as heartshomebrew.com, if they really think it's wise to ship something other than what you ordered, I expect they'll fail to retain any repeat business or secure forewarned new customers.

Hearts is our LHBS here in Orlando.
The in store experience is just like what you are going through.

It's a cramped, dank closet of a store with poor customer service. But, it is on my way home from work, and I'm to cheap and impatient to order from out of town.

This is the third heartshomebrew complaint thread in 3 weeks. We've had one each Saturday...

Seems like we should make a sticky thread about them or something. I hate to dis an LHBS but it seems these guys really don't give a frak anymore.

I gotta tell ya, just between us girls, that Revvy is HOT. Very tall, gorgeous grey hair and a terrific smile. He's very good looking in person, with a charismatic personality... he drives like a ****ing maniac! - YooperBrew

Definitely appreciated. Every store, homebrew or not, has its off days...but this one I've heard way too many negatives for almost no positives at all.

I just made my first order from Austin HBS the other day, and it should be here...oh, wow, Monday. Their ordering system was quick and easy, their website's more than pleasant, and with everything I've heard I have no doubt I'll be pleased with the product.

That said, I do like to try different companies on occasion, and I really appreciate the heads-up about your experience.

You may want to have that checked out by a doctor first before self-prescribing

I walked in once, tried to chat up the guy at the register, and walked out empty handed. I felt like I was bothering him or something. If service was better then it would have been easier to over look how dingy it was. I'm in the same boat as Revvy, hate to dis a LHBS.

It's always a pleasure doing business at www.homebrewemporium.com . It is the same drive distance for me and their customer service is superb.
