Hi guys,

I've got the following carboy sitting for 6 months after being racked. Two of my carboys are like this and it started about 7 days ago, proliferating extremely fast. My third carboy is untouched and fine.

I haven't opened these yet to smell them since this happened.

Any thoughts on if this is spoilage / what to do?

Suggestions and insights are greatly appreciated!
apologies for the sideways photo

that is certainly a pellicle. take a sample and taste it (whatever you use to get the sample will be infected). If it pleasantly sour then let it go for another month and give it another taste.

Looks like a ton of headspace there. If only two are infected, and all three have that much headspace, then you are very lucky. I'd bottle or rack the one without the pellicle to a smaller carboy immediately, and make sure to use campden tablets (one per gallon) when racking as well.
