Monday I threw a yeast starter on my stirplate and let it go spinny...

I planned on brewing tonight and got stuck at work with a problem.
Tomorrow ill be here early and will be leaving late.. This whole week could end up like this...

How long will my starter be good on the plate? And/or, what can I do to keep it safe?

Later in the week, shut the stir plate down and let it settle for a few hours. decant half the fluid off. Then refill with another batch of starter wort and start it back up. a week isn't that long, so try to time this out with the time you will be brewing.

Put it in the fridge.
Then just decant let warm up to room temp and add some new wort & throw it back on the stir plate day before you are ready to brew.
You will even have more yeasties than you would have.

+1 for the fridge and more wort = more yeasty beasties

Awesome, thanks guys.

I'm thinking of fighting the power and squeezing out early tonight to brew.

I even put it in the fridge for almost a week and just brought up to room temperature right before pitching. I had crazy activity (this was my first starter), so I'm assuming it worked.

But you're probably safer adding more wort.

I just thought I'd throw my story in there.
