I'm planning my kegerator setup. It seems generally accepted that John Guest fittings with BevSeal ultra are a good fit on the liquid side - so I've decided to use those for liquid. Now I'm looking at the gas side of things
My main concerns:
Here's what I've found:
Use John Guest with MFL connections on Regulator and MFL QD. This seems to be somewhat popular and workable, but with some drawbacks. John Guest aren't necessarily designed to hold pressure & will limit the line size to 3/16" ID which could encourage kinking/leaking. However, this is the option I'm leaning towards. Luer Locks. These seem hard to find. I think it still requires barb/clamp. Source - http://www.homebrewfinds.com/2011/09/making-utility-co2-line-using-luer.html
Kent QD. Seems these are a MoreBeer only sort of thing. Expensive. Still requires barbs and clamps. Source - http://homebrewacademy.com/co2-utility-line
Stick with barbs/clamps and 5/16" tubing. I don't necessarily like the idea of barbed fittings with clamps, they seem difficult to remove (have to loosen the clamp) and more prone to leaking.
Thoughts on these options or others with a completely greenfield setup?
My main concerns:
- Leaking
- Ease of disconnect/reconnect
- Availability of replacement parts
