I like Vienna Lagers, and I kind of think a similar malt bill would work well with a pumpkin ale. I was thinking something like 66% Vienna, 20% Munich, 14% 2-row, 1 ounce of Mt. Hood FWH, 4 pounds of roasted pumpkin in the mash, pumpkin pie spice*, and a clean ale yeast like WLP001 or US-05. Thoughts?

*: 0.75 tsp ceylon cinnamon, 0.25 tsp ginger, 0.25 tsp nutmeg, 0.125 tsp allspice, 0.125 tsp clove.

I don't see why it wouldn't be a good beer. I tend to use Vienna in beers where it will shine through on its own and use 2row where I don't really care about the base grain being the highlight. But ultimately, if you like Vienna then do it. It's still a base grain after all.
