I have a magic Chef 6.8 that I am building my Keezer out of. I am curious if anyone has found heavy duty hinges to replace the plastic ones? I have searched without success to find any. I have added gas struts to keep the lid up, but there is still a lot of pressure on the plastic ones. I have looked at using some regular metal hinges, but have not found anything that matches up with the same bolt pattern.

Here are a few picks of project so far...I am still working on the draft tower. I cannot decide if I want to tile under the taps or do the pine wood.

Plastic hinges? That surprises me.

I have 3 freezers and they all have metal hinges. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer of the unit? Maybe they have metal hinges that they use in other models that might fit.
