Well its the first time making a cider. I used 5 gallons of sunrype apple juice and 2lbs of corn sugar. I also added a white labs yeast nutrient tablet. I pitched 2 packs of Lalvin 1118 (not rehydrated) around 72F and put it in the chest freezer lowering the temperature down to 60F overnight. The carboy is covered with foil not an airlock. The next day I had a krausen and all looked good. Its now day 3 and the krausen has dropped. There is a bunch of co2 coming out of solution and looks similar to my beer fermentations coming to an end. My OG was 1.064 and my gravity at day 3 is 1.053. Does this sound like im on course or am I running into a stall? By day 3 i was surprised I didnt see a lower gravity unless this yeast is a turtle. Any ideas or tips appreciated..
