This beer was inspired by Stone Brewing's Arrogant Bastard. I wanted something dark, fruity and bitter. Not quite stout black, a very dark brown/red. Not a clone but really good.

Ingredients:

6 lbs 2 Row
6 lbs Maris Otter
1.5 lbs Special-B
6 oz Pale Chocolate
4 oz Roast Barley

76% efficiency
7% ABV
Mash at 150f for 60 minutes

1 tsp Irish Moss 15 min of boil

1 oz Chinook 11.6% pellets 40 min of boil
1 oz Chinook 11.6% pellets 20 min of boil
1 oz Chinook 11.6% pellets 10 min of boil
1 oz Chinook 11.6% pellets whirlpool

Looks good!
Curious if you've done a side by side taste test with the real deal, and if so, how do they compare and/or contrast? -djturner

Not side by side. I would say it reminds me of Arrogant Bastard. Bitter, piney, roasty with a dry finish.

Looks really good . I like the idea of adding a bit of roasted to ab. I got the adventures in homebrewing kit for ab but the hops were way off so I used Chinook and columbus and one other I can't remember now. Turns out they're grain bill was waaay off too but it made a Wonderful ipa. Have it written down somewhere I'll have to dig it up and post.
