Figured I would get more hate than recipe requests!
I have to apologize though. I am terrible at recipes when it comes to food. I am one of those annoying little of this little of that type of people. I also do most of he cooking (thus the really filthy cooktop) around here. The advantage being... THE KITCHEN IS MINE!!!
I can tell you what I used but not exact proportions for all of it I am afraid. I will try and approximate where I can ~
Main ingedient to hold it all together vital wheat gluten. I actually did measure this time (to see what I had left) and it was 300g
Anway, without further ado...
Vegetarian Bangers recipe
~1/2 cup bread crumbs (?)
1/4 cup oatmeal
1 tsp of Marmite
2 TBSP of potato flour
4 TBSP of Tamari
couple of dashes of malt vinegar
~1/4 of a potato finely diced (for texture)
~ 1 TBSP of onion powder (or more?)
~1 TBSP of lemon juice
~1/4 nutritional yeast
~1 tsp of Marjoram
~1/2 tsp of sage
~1/4 of tsp of freshly cracked black pepper
~1/8 - 1/4 of cayenne
~1/8 tsp of citric acid
~1/8 tsp of mace
Bring 1 cup of water to boil. Add oatmeal and cook a few minutes. Add potato flour and marmite. Let cool somewhat
Mix wheat gluten with remaining ingerdients (except bread crumbs) and stir oatmeal mixture. Add water to make a fairly loose sticky mass mix a bit to work the gluten. Add bread crumbs. Ad salt too taste if necessary (I did not ad any bt ymmv)
Take a glop of mix and roll it in aluminum foil to the size you like. Roll the ends tight!
Bake for 375° F for about 30 minutes. Let cool before unwrapping. Don't be suprised if some explode!
Fry and serve with mashed potatos and onion gravy.
