Defiantly a crowd pleaser! Went through 5 gallons in no time, enjoyed by all beer drinkers from hard core craft beer enthusiasts to macro drinkers alike. Excellent grist for single hop experiments. The nelson has a very nice aroma and flavor profile, sweet and fruity, very white wine like. The aroma jumps right out of the glass. The grist is simple but solid, soft but cleanly crisp with slight toast on the back end, not enough to be overly noticeable but enough to make you long for another sip. It was very easy to drink a 6pk of this beer and at 5% you'll be able to walk to the fridge for more.

You seriously need to! I still have people asking me about it. Guess I need to 're brew it now that I have a keg system.

I read quite a few recipes advocating for 7oz (1.5oz FWH, then 15min/10min/2min for 3.5oz, then 2oz in dry hop), with a simple pilsner+wheat base—we're talking 5gal here. Any thoughts on such aggressive hopping? I'll be brewing that for German friends, and they spit everything that's too bitter. I do not expect them to say it's beer, because it'll actually taste something, but having them not brushing their teeth afterwards would be nice. ☺

That's perfect. The fwh is going to be very well rounded without the harsh bitterness and your hop burst will contribute all flavor and aroma.

Thanks for your analysis! I'll go with 1# torrified wheat and .5# flaked oats for consistency, as I don't have any dextrin lying around—still aiming for 1.050 though. I'm also gonna try that with California Lager yeast—a feeling that it could be interesting, with some chance of failure though. Thanks again!

EDIT: I'll even go the extra mile and sour 1L of the batch for 48h and put it back in the fermenter. I think the little sour touch can help put some shape on the NS.
