Just thought I would share a couple pics of my setup because its a bit different from what most other people are doing. I have been brewing for just a year but heres what ive come up with:
I use a pair of 4 gallon pots instead of one big one. This is because a) I can use my stove and do not need to buy a burner, a kettle or brew outside, b) I am able to do full volume boils and c) I already had the pots.
It gets really cold where I live like -40c sometimes. Thats why I definately do not ever want to brew outside! But the plus side was all winter I chilled wort by putting it on my back deck! Now that its getting warmer I needed a chiller but never found an example of a dual chiller searching online. So I made one by cutting 20' of 3/8" copper in half and running city water to T fitting to split it. I brewed 2 batches this weekend and both times I got it chilled to pitching temp in 13 mins.
Well it works for me! Next stop for me is all grain. Tried a partial mash today which just made me realize I need a mash tun lol. But I can't see myself needing a brew kettle anytime soon.
