I'm getting ready to add a Chugger pump into my AG setup to get the setup down to a manageable height.
I was just wondering what other brewers are using for quick disconnects on their pump lines and their HLT/Mash Tun/ Kettle?
Thanks in advance

I use stainless quick disconnects. have the male disconnects on the kettle / MLT / HLT:

And the female ends on the hose:

You'll also need barbs to attach the hose to the female QD:

You CAN find female QD's with a barb attached and save a few bucks, but I'm so glad I didn't do that - you don't have much hose to hold on to while connecting/disconnecting if you go that route.

You will need brewing gloves with these, they get hot.

Also a lot of guys on here use cam locks and most people really like them.

Here's a great writeup on the QD's I recommended, with build instructions for hoses. You should drool over the rest of the site as well if you haven't already!

You might also try bargainfittings.com they often have great prices for things like this. Good luck!

I use 1/2" SS camlocks and am very happy with making that change a while back. Pricing is better than the SS push-on QDs, and when selecting the high flow options there is virtually no restriction, 1/2" all the way through.

Or here

There are other resources.

+1 on the camlocks. I used to use polysulphone QD's, but they were very restrictive at times. The camlocks are easy to work with. I've also used the Blichmann QD's...but they were a pain in the neck to screw and unscrew when needed

I'm a cam lock user as well, I found them to be the best computerize between price and ease of use. SS QD's would be great but it would have been too expensive to do my entire brewery. I also like the fact that you can get one piece female/barb with cam locks so you dont have to take them apart to clean.

For a couple years I've been using Camlocks on my March pump - got them from BobbyM - Brewhardware.com Great price. Took a few minutes to get the hang of one handed operations - Now it's no problem.

On the hose side I have the Female connectors connected to Street Elbows and High flow Barbs.
Recently I purchased a Centerline Chugger Pump (His add a pump kit) that came with some improved Camlock highflow attachments. They look promising... I'm putting it together today.

Ok I took the plunge and ordered 4 female barbed for the hoses, and 5 male fitting for the keggles and pump from Bargain Fittings. $56 and some change. Not bad really.

Just cuz it looks pretty:

So wondering if you all think the best connection is to minimize cavitation with the march pump. There are quite a few folks that have mentioned leaky QC as a culprit for air in the line. Thanks!
