Hello Fellow Brewers,

My first kit is called: Barron's Premium Brown Ale

After day 3 of fermenting, airlock bubbling had stopped.

After day 4, racked to secondary fermenter in glass carboy.

This morning, day 6, there is a film on top of beer as well as tiny "floating clouds" of something.

My question is: Is this normal?

Thanks, Dobrew Dave

Not sure about the floating clouds, I haven't ever had them in a brew. I will say you transferred a little early, you should have just left it in the primary.

You will be fine, bravo for using a secondary as a new brewer.

I get tired of saying it but -99 out of 100 times, the answer to "Dear GOD, what is that s*** in my fermenter??" is

YEAST They are wierd, some do wierder things than others. As long as you sanitized properly(I prefer No-Rinse, it is just too handy) you should be fine.

It is more than likely normal, like demon said. If the film is white-ish colored, especially, it's normal. Just yeast. The floating clouds, too, could be a krausen reforming.
