Default Wyeast 1450 in English IPA

I have some of this around and before i pitch it this afternoon, has anyone ever done this with bad results? My logic is that most of the esters will probably be masked by the 5 oz of hops and the 1450 still has a malty profile...

Fwiw the recipe:
10# mo
2# vienna
.5# carapils
.5# c60
60 target 1 oz
15 challenger 1 oz
15 goldings 1oz
0 goldings 2 oz

Thanks for any input.

I brew English styles all the time. I reckon your logic is pretty sound. Good luck with the brew.

Wyeast says it accentuates the malt profile. Sounds good for an English IPA.

This brew came out good. Never had an english ipa before so i dont have anything to compare it to, but its tastes exactly how i expected given the recipe.
