Default flaked maize

Can you steep flaked maize in an extract brew?

i've done that before with successful results (particulary for the cream of three crops)

Partial Mash with a full hour's "treatment" was a much better result, though. I used a BIAB style, so it's basically like steeping for a full hour

So if steeped for an hour, what other grains would you have to steep it with?

Let me rephrase...

Can it be steeped alone, or does it need other grains? Carmel, carpils, etc?

Base malt. It really can't be steeped, as it won't convert and will give a starch haze.

If you can't do a partial mash with a pound of base malt (plain US two-row), then you could use a pound of corn sugar instead of the flaked maize. I would NOT steep flaked maize without converting.
