I want to try to brew this beer this weekend, what do you think the conversion for using DME would be and how/which malt would be best for steeping?

Basically steep the crystal grains for 30 minutes at 150 degrees, and just convert the base malt to DME (0.6x) or LME (0.75x) at the respective ratio.

Base malt:
6lb light DME (Or 7.5lb LME) (add half at start of boil and rest at 5 minutes remaining)

Crystal grains for steeping:
1.5lb Caramel 20L
1lb Carafoam

As for the hop schedule, that would depend on how big of a boil you do. If you do a full boil, throw in the same as above. If you don't, we can dial up the hops to match the IBU's calculated for the all grain recipe. So, how big of a batch and how big of a boil are you planning on doing?

So I ended up brewing this 9 days ago. I ended up going with 5lbs of DME all at 60minutes. Crystal grains for steeping, 1lb Caramel and 1lb 2 row.

Hop schedule:
1oz 60min Cascade
.5oz 30min Cascade
.5oz 20min Cascade
.5oz 15min Cascade
.5oz 5min Cascade
.5oz 5min Citra

Will dry hop with .75oz Cascade & Citra with 1 week to go. Will let ya know how it comes out.

Afraid the galaxy is pretty important, I got lucky and found some here in Athens. It's absolutely the backbone of the beer.

Sounds like yours will be nice though, hope it's delicious!

If your going to "clone" something, you should at least attempt to put the same ingredients in your beer. It will be nothing like Recreation Ale.

Why are there so many dicks on this forum?

I've had people taste this, it tastes right on the money. Don't believe me? Don't respond! It's that easy.
