After chilling my wort, I've been aerating it using the simple method described by John Palmer in How to Brew: I pour it back and forth from the kettle to the bucket a couple of times before pouring it into the carboy. This does a nice job of aerating the wort, but it also produces a ton of foam, which makes getting it all into the carboy a bit of a pain. Especially with the leftover foam from the StarSan.

Does anyone else aerate this way? Are you having the same problem? Am I just pouring it back and forth too many times? My yeast are happy, but cleanup is a pain, and I'm probably losing some wort to the foam that doesn't make it into the carboy.

This is how I aerate as we'll. I never really worry about the foam. I have my beer dialed in so that with the foam I don't go over the bucket size.
