So my yeast starter has been in fridge for 3 days after sitting for 18 hrs after I made it. It looks good I think and wondering if I should take it out of fridge in the morning if I plan on brewing tomorrow evening or just take it out a few hrs before? Also do you decant right before you pitch or after you take out of fridge? Thanks guys much appreciated

You didn't mention how big your starter is. If it is less than 2 quarts, I usually don't worry about decanting. I just pitch the whole thing.

For temperature, either strategy you mentioned will work. You just want the little yeast soldiers to change temp gradually. Avoid shocking them by pitching cold yeast into warm wort. They can sit out for a few hours, or half a day without an impact.

Thank you, it's less than 2quarts, I'll set it out around noon, thanks again!
