C'mon we are dying to hear your thought process on this....

This thread is cracking me up. My first batch ever I pushed the grommet of the airlock into the beer at some point. I panicked and shoved my arm in to grab it. I thought it was ruined. Turned out darned good. I called it "arm sweat ale". My friends loved it. Don't sweat it!

So you did it, silly, but you did. Chances aren't slim but it could be just fine. As you all would say to me as a new brewer, relax ... Just wait and see. Oh, have a brew and stop shoving your hands in vessels to which they don't belong.

Get yourself a brewers spoon like someone else mentioned. They're made up to 3 Feet and longer! A plastic one is only about a dollar! I've used it to fish things out before.

My first brew, when I poured the wort into the fermenter, my paint strainer slipped in and dropped all of the gunk and trub back in to the filtered wort. I had to reach in and grab the filter and try to get everything out and refilter it.. I had no problems sticking my hand in there but I did make sure I washed my hand before I did.
