I am thinking of doing an oatmeal brown. I usually have my grains crushed at the store. Could I toast the crushed malt or will it just end up burning? I have only toasted grains once, and they weren't crushed and then were only steeped.

I've done it. Didn't burn for me, with ample stirring. I wouldn't expect to get any sugars from it.

In my experience though, i really can't say i noticed any beneficial flavors
Primary:Farmhouse Triple, Simcoe Session IPA, 100% Brett Brux IPA
Conditioning: Willamette English Pale Ale
