Do I need to worry about anything if I want to pull some juice out of the primary to test gravity? I plan on sanitizing my baster and the air lock won't be off for long...

Any worries? issues? Assume it's done with regularity but just want to make sure. It's been bubbling away for about a week.

Nope. Just be sure to put your bung somewhere sanitized while it's off.

That's how people test it. Everyone else doesn't have some sort of juice teleportation machine. Just try to keep your gravity tests to a minimum and you'll be fine.
