I just spent 65$ on 55lbs of Marris Otter, 35$ on 1lb of Amarillo hops.....I dos mios!

Better in terms of price, or better in terms of the beer you make. I have probably spent two grand this year on brew stuff, but I am a little obsessed. So the short answer is your technique will get better and the beer will taste better, but in all honesty you are probably saving money brewing at home...

Prices are probably not going to come down anytime soon, but $35 for a pound of hops seems steep, even with the current increases.

My shop saw a 300% increase in hop prices over 1 month and a 15$ increase in grain prices.
