I bought a Beverage Air Industrial Kegerator off of craiglist a couple of weekends ago for $100.00 even. The unit was in disrepair, and was filthy. The gentleman I bought it from did pulg it in however, so I knew the unit still worked reasonably well.

Here is a link to a couple of photo's. This is post a couple of good cleanings with commet and CLR. Also had to use goo gone to get off the residual tape. At this point I had roughly 2 hours into the restoration.

I then Sanded the whole unit lightly to get an even surface and masked off the Stainless Steel portions for paint. Here are a couple of photos from after the first coat. I used Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy.

Ended up putting three good coats of paint on the unit, and I think it turned out pretty nice. Here are a couple of photo's of the end result.

I had to buy new hardware for the tower and liquid out line. Total spent was around $140.00 including the paint. I figure if I ever want to get rid of it I could probably double my investment.

Nice find, and great job with the cleanup. Hopefully the compressor runs great for a long time to come.

Yeah man, nice job. Looks great and seemed like it took minimal work. Enjoy the brew poured from that sucker.

I really should have taken some pics right after I got it. The transformation was remarkable. Just checked my temp in the front of the fridge with the water in a glass method, and it was sitting at a nice 38 degrees. Now I can have a nice cold one whenever I want

My boss just gave me a very similar kegerator. It has a tower in the middle though, and is a little rougher. Did you leave the brown wood contact paper on the metal or remove it before painting? The one I now have may have compressor issues (not sure yet). Is it possible to recharge to cooling system on these or get new compressors?

Keith
