First post in a long time. The Mrs. and I have purchased a house and so naturally my first thought was time for a kegerator. I’m looking to build a stand-up kegerator with 4 taps. I’m reasonably handy with tools but have a hard time visualising parts, builds etc. so I’d like to keep my buying process as simple as possible. Also I’m in Canada so using a seller who ships to Canada is necessary. I have a few kegerator questions hopefully some can help me with.
1.Parts. If I buy this package, 4 ball-lock kegs and some extra O-rings is that everything I need?
2. Upgrades. The package offers the following upgrades what are they and which should I get?
a. Ball lock MFL (threaded) connections add $15.96
b. 5 or 10# CO2 tank, I realize I’ll need a tank, how many kegs will a 10# tank last
c. Faucets. Standard (chromes plated), Stainless Steel, Perlick 525SS
d. Drip tray. Is a 6”x4”x1” drip tray wide enough for 4 taps?
3. Cost. The connection package, with 10# CO2, basic connections, stainless steel faucets, 4 kegs and extra O-rings is going to cost around $940. Is that a good price? Like I said I’d rather get all my parts at once and Canadian shipping is required but if I can do dramatically better please let me know.
