Got a 6er of Sam Adams double agent IPL tonight. I think it's pretty good. Gave it a 3.1 on rate beer. My first impression was its a "gateway" or beginners IPA. Has anyone else had this and think the same thing or do you have a different opinion

Had it fresh off the truck several months ago. I enjoyed it as the lack of yeast profile let the malt and hops shine. Good intro to hoppy beers.

Saw a lot of underwhelming reviews on BA, but I tried one and didn't think it was bad.

Yeah, because there aren't nearly enough IPAs on the market these days.

It's good but it's got nothing on Jacks Abby ipl which came out about a year or more ago. A brewery in Framingham mass about 30 miles from Boston. They also have an ABCS double ipl and that is amazing. Strong hop character but so smooth
