I'm making a Coopers Stout soon and have been thinking of adding a whiskey or bourbon essence to the secondary (1 gallon secondary). Has anyone done this type of addition before? The essence I'm considering using is "Liquor Quik" Southern Tennesee Whiskey.

Why not just add some of your favorite whiskey to your taste, 4-8 oz would prob work.

Yea, that's what I would do. No need to use essences when it'll be easier to adjust flavor using the real stuff. The volume and ABV won't be enough to affect your finished beer significantly.
