Water bottle vs. Better bottle

I am curious as to the differences (if any) between a better bottle and the plastic bottles used for office water coolers. The water cooler bottles are a lot less expensive and available in my area, unlike better bottles.

There is alot of discussion on this subject. The big concern with regular plastic bottles is that there might be the risk of the plastics allowing oxygen to pass through over long periods of time. Better bottles are a specific type of plastic that is supposed to be unaffected by oxygen permeability. If you can find an office bottle that is the same plastic type as a better bottle, it should work.
