I have a Golden Strong Belgian that just came out of the fermentor. The FG is 1.006 according to two hydrometers and my new refractometer (corrections applied). The OG was 1.072. I tasted the sample used for the testing and it is good, with a pleasant fruity taste. But strangely, the uncarbonated sample tastes sweet. This was confirmed by three others. I did not expect a sweet taste in a beer that finished at 1.006. Is it the yeast and fruitiness I am tasting or is it really sweet?

24# Pils
2# Wheat
2# candy sugar
2 oz. Styrian Goldings at 60 mins
2 oz. Styrian Goldings at 10 mins
WL Abbey Ale WLP530 3 ltr. starter, 550 billion cells

8.5% ABV, 23.3 IBU per Brewsmith

How many IBUs did you get from the 60 minute addition?
It is possible that you didnt get enough to balance to beer.
But saying that, it could well improve with carbonation.

I am guessing that you are tasting the alcohol sweetness.

Likely the flavor of the pils malt. It has a candy like flavor. But it's not actually sweet. It has the flavor and aroma of sweet things and tricks your brain into thinking it's sweet.

It tested as 8.5% ABV, and 23.3 IBU per Brewsmith. That is on the low end of the scale for Golden Strong Belgians.
