I have a used compressed air tank and was wondering if it would be possible to fill it with CO2 for kegging. It is a 25 lb tank so it would be awesome to not have to worry about it for months. Thoughts?

Compressed gas companies are usually very particular about using the correct bottle for a specific gas type.

Different gas bottles have various fitting sizes to make it hard to use the wrong gas for a particular application.

I don't think you are likely to get it filled with anything other than compressed air.

Yeah, this doesn't sound safe to me. Compressed air tanks are usually pretty thin. CO2 tanks are thicker and meant to withstand over 1000 psi.

Typical air tank will hold ~125psi, probably has a safety valve somewhere around 150psi. CO2 tanks hold pressures many times that.
