Default whitelabs wln1000-1 yeast nutrient

Hi,
I have some of this whitelabs yeast nutrient but its a few years old. Should I discard it? Whitelabs say it has a shelf life of 9 months. Whats in it that can degrade? Can adding it have a negative impact on my beer(starter)?

Thanks

L
