The only difference I have seen are the Cornelius pin lock posts I have use the same poppets as the ball lock Cornelius posts in diagram B.

I have 2-3 super champions, but no pin locks to compare the poppets with. I think most of the rest of my herd is challenger V's and VI's.

I have heard these can cause problems on the liquid side

They work fine if they're trimmed to the proper length. If you try to use one as is in a post that was designed for short poppets, they won't depress far enough, and will cause issues on either side.

Today I also just took apart an old ball lock firestone with the plastic post spacers (post C) and it needed the long leg (D style) poppet.
