Ok I am doing my first lager. I did a 4 pint starter on Wednesday. Labs dude said I vial of Mexican lager yeast was all I needed for my 5 gallon batch. Went on the forums and I see that at least 2 vials are needed. Mr. Malty confirmed. So I went back to LHBS and they are out of Mexican lager. I got American lager instead.
I plan on just pitching the vial and my starter. Leave it go at room temp for about 10 hours then cool down to 52*. What will happen? Can the two yeasts live together? One is on a starter and the other is not... How will this affect the d-rest then ultimately the lagering?
Whoa is me....

I suggest stepping-up your starter, instead of putting in two different yeast varieties. It will postpone your brewday, but its better than underpitching your batch. Different yeast will just fight each other, until one of them wins, I believe.
