Default yeast cake

Hi av been reading some other threads and it mentions a yeast cake. Dont want to stupid but what is a yeast cake

A cake that rises with yeast leavening instead of baking soda. Kidding.

It's just the layer of yeast and junk at the bottom of the carboy after fermentation.
