On base? I never asked to be honest. I would imagine they swap kegs when the beer truck comes around just like any other bar.

The base does not sell empties. The empties are returned to the distributors to be return to the breweries.

Cool, thanks! Just trying to "beat the bushes" you know? Keggles are hard to find I am beginning to see.

I just stopped by "Keg Cowboy" in Lexington. I was curious as it is the only other Homebrew store in the midlands.

Couple of things I noticed:

Stock was low on the shelves for some items like LME/DME. They did have plenty of the smaller items like stoppers, airlocks, racking canes, etc.

Also, the grains and hops must have been in the back because all I saw was a dry erase board listing their stock of each.

They now have a bar and are serving their brew! I saw one fellow at the bar and a young woman behind the bar. She made eye contact with me once but after 10-15 minutes of browsing I waved at her as I left. She said "bye"...

Overall nice store and well decorated but bare of most ingredients. Also, not speaking to a potential customer until he leaves isn't good business IMO.

I've been going to Keg Cowboy for my last 4 recipes, I mostly talk to Matt and he's been an outstanding resource. All their grain and hops are kept in the walk-in cooler behind the taps on the side of the bar. They seem to have most grains in stock and decent prices, rivaling online merchants. Only downside for me at least is, I BIAB and the crush isnt quite what i want. I think im gonna buy a mill anyways.
