Default Equipment Help - Hose Clamp

Before I "learn" how this clamp works by breaking it...

Anyone know how this clamp is supposed to work? It goes on the hose that will connect to a ball lock liquid connector.

You put it over the hose and the hose over the barb , ( use hot water and soak tip of hose to slide it on ) use tool for the clamps to tighten it . There better for hoses be Ouse they apply pressure from all sides .

It requires a special tool meant for Oetiker clamps.

Yep just put it on the hose and pinch the nipple on the clamp with a pair of nippers.

Do I really need a special tool to secure it?

Thanks Bobby I found the tool on Amazon.

BeverageFactory.com buyer beware I guess. They shipped me a disassembled picnic ball lock hose and forgot 1/2 the parts.

Then they ship replacement parts and I need to buy yet another tool which costs more then the assembly...

What a bunch of clowns.

I found a couple of nice photos that show how to install these so I thought I would share.

Right - that's the fancy schmancy tool way

You can also use a pair of side cutters almost as easily...

Cheers!
