I brewed a bitter last night, and by the time I got done, I was so tired, and the wort was so foamy from splashing into the carboy, that I didn't aerate, just pitched the yeast (S-04) and went to sleep, at about 11:45pm last night. It's now almost 10am the next morning, and the yeast has not taken off yet, probably because it dipped down to 55*F in my bedroom overnight. (I took a gravity reading to confirm. No activity yet.)

My question is this: should I aerate now, before it warms up enough for the yeast to take off?

What was the og? If its pretty low like most bitters I would warm it up and you'll be fine.

I would worry about it to much. Maybe swirl the carboy a little you rouse the yeast a bit. Should take off by tonight or tomorrow morning.
