Default Dumb Question of the Week

FG,,reading taken before or after priming sugar? I took mine after and it read 1.20, OG was 1.050.

Def before priming. It is after all,a specific gravity measurement in this case to see how much sugar was converted to alcohol.

So you can't figure out the FG. No big deal. Just enjoy what you brewed and take the next reading before you add priming sugar. Be happy, YOU MADE BEER!

With those readings you should have got a 4% abv. Find an ABC calculator if you aren't a math type. They are free every where.

Before priming sugar if you were at
1.012 beer would be 5%
1.015 beer would be 4.5%
