I always used 05 for my pales and decided to stop using dry yeast. I've used liquid for flavor profiles many times in the past, but never had a starter go this crazy.

1.6 L starter with 160 grams DME
1 tube WLP001 stir plate

I can't leave it on the stirplate and even just sitting there it's overflowing my 2L flask. Is this normal for this strain? I'm expecting the fermentation to be as explosive.
